Okay, I changed my mind on the crisp..I DID brandy the cherries...amazing by themselves........I let them sit in the refigerator for a few days but decided to heat them up and just serve over vanilla ice cream topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce! Looking back I SHOULD have put a brownie underneath it all to soak up the juice of the cherries.oh well..brandied cherries are fab!! I WILL make more and definitely try the crisp!

Hi Jessie,
We have a local food company (Food for Thought in Honor, MI) make our jams and preserves for us in small custom batches, so we don't have a nutrition panel for them. The ingredients of the cherry preserves are: whole tart pitted cherries, sugar and pectin.
Thanks,
Patty

John,
I noticed this today on our bank statement. After looking back I found where it was hidden in our Discover fees from the bank. You are correct, this is very distressing. Fortunately, we have only been taken for 3 months and I got one of those back. Mine was the Discover Merchant Healthcare Plan, so tell everyone you know!!!!

These cherry pecan energy bars look great. I especially appreciate that I can make them myself with this recipe. A lot of the energy bars on the market come with too much sugar.

I do understand where you are coming from on this issue of organic produce. Even in my own small personal garden (in Ohio) I have trouble growing much of anything without at least some use of pesticides.

The word "organic" is being used far too frequently lately. A small plastic storage container I recently purchased was even labeled "organic." What could that possibly mean in the case of plastic?

I teach nutrition and I am more concerned about seeing people (teens in my case) eat fruit in the first place than worrying excessively about the issue of organic produce.

I've been percolating a series of posts on "Why It's Harder Than You Might Think To Do The Right Thing." One is about recycling. One is about personal energy use. Even doing the posts is turning out to be harder than you might think.

All of life is a balancing act, and no one has all the right answers. That's why I appreciate thoughtful analysis and a willingness to hear about different experiences.

Thanks, John.
