This sounds like the cutest little idea. I bet they WERE a huge hit!! :) I'm going to use your idea, but I like to make my own pastry dough, and I'm also going to cut heart shapes instead of a circle. Thank you for the great idea. :)

This looks great! I'm making it tonite, but with blueberry jam. So we will see. If my son, who's autistic, eats it then it definitely deserves 4stars!
Thanks,
Kelly

We are just the farmers with a few ideas on how the fruit we grow might fit into a meal. Sorry. John

I always get a big kick out of your musings on the business of farming, John. I am surely jealous of any piece of equipment that manages to work for 31 years and hold its value too. Lessee, I bought my first computer the year after you bought that John Deere . . . paid $1850 for it--including the software. I shoulda bought a tractor.

Even though I cannot buy the cherry brands specified in this recipe it comes out great. The canned tart cherries I used are only 14 ozs per can so I made up the difference with frozen dark sweek cherries with no adverse effect on the outcome. Also I use a Smart Balance crust and so far there are no complaints even when I use Steevia instead of sugar. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

I love tart cherries but I live in Florida. December and January can be quite cold and that would seem the best time to order frozen tart cherries. How many days does it take to get to Florida?
