Apple Shipping

I commissioned a remake of our website early in July. I thought it would be ready for Cherries, but it is still not operating. So I will have to get out the word on apple shipping the old way…in the blog. We will start shipping McIntosh apples next week Sept 16. To protect the apples in shipping we buy a foam shipping insert and a box and sleeve that costs us over $12 each. We have tried the egg carton type shippers but have not always had good luck with bruising during shipping. The apples we ship will be selected from those going over our wash/wax line. They will be uniform size and free of bruises and defects. They will have very good color and be crunchy hard at the time of shipping. The packaging and shipping is expensive, but, the apples are a Bargain! Grown in Northern Michigan on a farm where we are able to grow the very highest quality McIntosh, Honeycrisp, Northern Spy, and fall apples that require cooler weather for the best flavor, texture, and color.
