Welcome to King Orchards, a cherished family-owned orchard nestled in the heart of northern Michigan. Our roots run deep, spanning over 45 years of cultivating a diverse array of fresh fruits that delight our customers from June’s succulent strawberries to October’s crisp apples.

Founded by brothers John and Jim King in 1980, alongside their wives Betsy and Rose, our orchard has flourished into a second-generation farming family.

Passionate about the farming life, we’ve worked tirelessly to produce top-quality fruit on the northern fringes of Michigan’s renowned cherry growing region. Our orchards sprawl across glacier-formed ridges and rolling hills near the picturesque Torch Lake and Lake Michigan’s Grand Traverse Bay.

At King Orchards, we actively cultivate over 140 acres of Montmorency tart cherries, Balaton cherries, black sweet cherries, apples, peaches, pears, apricots, strawberries, raspberries, plums, and nectarines.

The richness of our harvest is unparalleled, and we take pride in delivering the finest fruits directly from our orchards to your table.

King Orchards has two markets, conveniently located just 7 miles apart along US 31 and M-88 near Torch Lake, each offering its own unique experience. Our US 31 Market is a quick and easy stop, perfect for picking up baked goods and fresh fruit on the go. For a more immersive experience, our M-88 Market is the destination — a place to spend the day at the farm, enjoy u-pick adventures, and relax in the cider garden while the kids explore the playground.

Can’t make it to northern Michigan? No worries. For those outside the region, we happily ship our renowned Montmorency cherry concentrate, frozen cherries, and other favorites nationwide, ensuring a taste of King Orchards reaches you all year long.
