U-Pick FAQ

Do we need to bring anything?

Just you and your family! We provide the picking vessels (quarts, buckets, bags depending on the fruit). Feel free to bring your own box or bag to transfer into but we provide those as well!

Do you need reservations?

No reservations needed. Just follow the signs as you pull into the farm for our u-pick directions area.

Can I bring kids into the orchard?

We encourage you to bring the whole family! Our trees are trimmed so that the young and old are easily able to pick!

Do you charge to get into the orchard?

We do not charge to get into the orchard; you just pay for the fruit that you pick.

How does it work when I get to the orchard?

Check into the market first. We will then show you where and what we are picking that day. Pay for the container of your choice then go out and fill it with fruit. We offer extra containers for purchase in the orchard as well.

Will we drive or walk to the u-pick spot?

We encourage walking traffic only but can make accommodations for those who have special needs.

Do you have a cherry pitter?

Yes we do! We offer pitting for both sweet and tart cherries at our M-88 Market!

Do you allow dogs in the orchard?

We love dogs but due to food safety laws, we cannot allow dogs in active growing areas. We do have designated areas where you can walk your dog, though.

Do you offer picking at both markets?

Yes, we offer picking at both markets! However, start and end dates as well as specific crops may vary slightly from location to location so check our website, Facebook, or give us a call for the most up to date schedule.

U-Pick Strawberries

Strawberry season kicks off u-pick season at King Orchards. Pick your own strawberries starts in mid June and lasts about 3 weeks. Our u-pick strawberry patch is located at our M-88 Market but picked strawberries are available at both markets.

Here at King Orchards, we offer a clean strawberry field with numerous varieties to keep the picking good throughout the season. U-pick strawberries typically starts mid June and go into the first week of July. Entering the orchard is free and you only pay for the strawberries you pick. It makes for an affordable and fun activity for the entire family.

U-Pick Sweet Cherries

As U-Pick Strawberry season ends, pick your own sweet cherries begins (just after the 4th of July) and lasts about 3 weeks as well. This will be available at both our M-88 and US 31 Markets.

If you hit sweet cherry season at the prime time, you will see trees roped with fruit hanging towards the ground which makes it is easy for anyone from 1-100 to pick!
