I love making my own whipped cream. It is so easy and so much better than the packaged whipped cream you buy at the grocery store! The other day, I made my first attempt at homemade cherry whipped cream and it was absolutely delicious! I achieved a beautiful pink color by adding the tart cherry juice concentrate. I usually make it with a standing mixer, however my new favorite toy in the kitchen is my Ninja blender with the food processor attachment which I found is great for making whipped cream! The cleanup was a breeze and it mixed everything very evenly.
Ingredients:
- 1 pint heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar (depending on desired sweetness)
- 3 ounces tart cherry juice concentrate (can use more or less depending on desired cherry flavor)
- 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
Pour heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract into food processor or standing mixer. Mix until it begins to thicken, then add tart cherry juice concentrate. Mix until soft peaks form and slowly add in sugar until cream reaches stiff peaks. Refrigerate in air tight container. Substitute for regular whipped cream in any dessert!
