Assembly & Baking

  • Preheat your over to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Drain liquid from pineapple and tart cherry cans.
  • Spread butter to cover baking pan, including corners and sides to prevent the cake from sticking.
  • Sprinkle sugar across the butter.
  • Lay out pineapple rings without overlap on the bottom of the pan. Cut pineapple rings in half to line the sides of the pan.
  • Insert tart cherries in each pineapple ring and in any gaps between pineapple rings.
  • Pour the cake mix in the pan over the pineapple rings and cherries. Set in the oven.
  • After 30 minutes, check the cake for firmness, the cake may need to bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool 4 hours before flipping upside down for serving.
